Re-padding is typically needed at ten year intervals, depending on the care of instrument and its playing condition. All pads and corks are replaced, mechanisms adjusted and lubricated, body and key-work cleaned, tone holes refinished, u-tube bracket resealed, keys regulated, bore cleaned and polished, leaks sealed, and conventional set-up restored.

Re-padding prices for different instruments are, as follows:

     Fox®, Püchner, and wooden student instruments, $850

     Heckel and others, $850-1200

     Polypropylene Renard or Fox, $500

     Contrabassoons, $1,500-1,800

 

Please allow one week for completion of re-padding service.

Additional repair work will be completed at the regular service pricing of $90/hour.
